I tried many different off the rack brands and sizes of suits and what I found was that the legs would never fit when the shoulders did and the shoulders never fit when the legs did. Based on fitment, Alpine Stars thinks I should be about eight feet tall in the legs, and the one piece suits wanted to convert my man parts into female parts. After trying on 5 different suits from 3 different manufacturers without any luck, and my first track day rapidly approaching, I needed to get a custom suit. Looking at the options across the internet, I ran across Comet Racing Suits.
I had not heard of them before and could not find a lot of information on the web from customers about them, but their styles and pricing were right on the mark for what I wanted. After talking with Karl on the phone, I was comfortable with trying out their suits. He made the recommendation for the suit based on what I was looking for and I proceeded to have my measurements taken by my wife based on their video and worked out the colors I wanted with Karl.As I mentioned, my track day at this point was rapidly approaching and Karl assured me I would have a suit in time. Karl kept me informed on the suit throughout the process, sent pictures when it was completed, and it arrived with a few days to spare which was great. First time I tried it on it was pretty tight, but after talking with Karl, that was normal. Getting the suit early allowed me to walk around the house in it and make some rides prior to trying to spend all day in a new suit. By the time track day came, I spent all day in that suit without any issues or discomforts. Comet Racing and Karl made my first track day experience truly enjoyable and I have a suit that will last me for a very long time and many more track days to come.
