Darwin Street Bikes Review

[Because You are important to US]

For those that have seen my new bike jacket, it came from Karl at Comet racing leathers in the US. Mine is a Comet Custom 360 GP Pro CCXM. I took the option of having it tailor made for me in Kangaroo leather. The jacket has stretch panels to ensure a tight fit, yet plenty of movement.

The armour is all Kevlar and leather and full removable. The front is perforated leather and so far has been much cooler than my textile/leather hybrid Dri-rider jacket. I wore it all afternoon during the toy run without feeling uncomfortable at any stage. being thinner, strong kangaroo leather rather then thicker cow hide, this jacket is also very light, much lighter than my Dri-rider.

I optioned to have a custom embroidered logo added to both the front and back. (names are free) Allowing for the kangaroo upgrade, the custom stitching and tailoring plus DHL airfreight to Australia, the jacket cost about AUS$600. I can get matching pants for about $250 at a later stage. From order to deliver was three weeks to the day.
Karl is exceptionally easy to get on with and very quick to accommodate any request. I'd be happy to purchase from him again in the future.

I tried many different off the rack brands and sizes of suits and what I found was that the legs would never fit when the shoulders did and the shoulders never fit when the legs did. Based on fitment, Alpine Stars thinks I should be about eight feet tall in the legs, and the one piece suits wanted to convert my man parts into female parts. After trying on 5 different suits from 3 different manufacturers without any luck, and my first track day rapidly approaching, I needed to get a custom suit. Looking at the options across the internet, I ran across Comet Racing Suits.

I had not heard of them before and could not find a lot of information on the web from customers about them, but their styles and pricing were right on the mark for what I wanted. After talking with Karl on the phone, I was comfortable with trying out their suits. He made the recommendation for the suit based on what I was looking for and I proceeded to have my measurements taken by my wife based on their video and worked out the colors I wanted with Karl.As I mentioned, my track day at this point was rapidly approaching and Karl assured me I would have a suit in time. Karl kept me informed on the suit throughout the process, sent pictures when it was completed, and it arrived with a few days to spare which was great. First time I tried it on it was pretty tight, but after talking with Karl, that was normal. Getting the suit early allowed me to walk around the house in it and make some rides prior to trying to spend all day in a new suit. By the time track day came, I spent all day in that suit without any issues or discomforts. Comet Racing and Karl made my first track day experience truly enjoyable and I have a suit that will last me for a very long time and many more track days to come.

My husband wore his new comet racing jacket all week up at the tomahawk motorcycle rally in tomahawk WI. Said it look and worked great. Lots of comments on it from people, even at the Harley shop. Thanks again he loves it!

I ordered a similar jacket to Wes from Comet Racing Leathers, same style but gunmetal grey and black, so far I cannot fault their service, Karl has been in touch all the way, this morning I got an email apologising for the delay as they've had humidity issues getting the kangaroo leather dried properly after the dyeing process, because of that though he's offered me a FREE pair of kangaroo leather gloves, WIN!

For everybody who wants a quality leather jacket at a very reasonable price Karl is offering a special service, buy a jacket and he will include the $100 full custom body fitting service for free, jackets can be ordered with or without racing hump, they also do pants and full racing suits so check out their web site below. If you put my surname (Bretherton) in the group section on the order form there will also be a discount. If a few of you want to get together and do a group buy he'll even drop the prices further. PS They also do custom female cut leathers as well!
